A successor owner of the property is entitled to reinstate a defaulted deed of trust under Civ. Code 2924c even if the successor owner is not a party to the defaulted loan and deed of trust and does not assume any obligation under that loan and deed of trust.  Here, plaintiff bought the property at a foreclosure sale held by a junior lienor.  He then attempted to reinstate the defaulted first deed of trust.  Held, plaintiff had standing to reinstate though not a party to the loan which he sought to reinstate.  Civ. Code 2924c gives the right to reinstate to the borrower or a successor in interest to the property, not a successor in interest to the loan.
