Complaint and summons may be served by mail on a defendant in a foreign country so long as authorized by the forum jurisdiction’s laws and not objected to by the foreign country.

Under the Hague Convention on Service Abroad, the plaintiff may serve the complaint and summons on a foreign defendant by mail so long as otherwise applicable law of the forum jurisdiction permits service by mail and the foreign country in which service is made has not objected to service by mail.
