The parties stipulated to appointing a retired judge as a temporary judge to hear portions of their marital dissolution proceedings.  The order appointing the temporary judge stated that the appointment would end on April 1, 2020 except as to any requests for orders that had been submitted before that date but had not yet been resolved.  Here, wife submitted a request for order before April 1, 2020.  It was not resolved before that date.  After April 1, wife withdrew her request for order.  Several months later, husband submitted a request for order on the same subject.  The temporary judge issued an order granting husband’s request a year later.  Held, the temporary judge’s powers terminated once wife withdrew her request for order.  Husband’s request for order didn’t revive the temporary judge’s powers since it was submitted long after April 1, 2020.
