Whether advising a client on how to navigate an insurance claim or handling a litigated matter, Vanci enjoys collaborating with her insurer clients to effectively and cost-efficiently formulate strategies to resolve complex insurance questions and achieve outstanding results.
Vanci is part of Severson’s Insurance Law Group and brings 25 years of insurance coverage experience to Severson’s Irvine office. Prior to joining Severson, Vanci was a named partner at a boutique coverage firm with offices in both Northern and Southern California.
Vanci represents insurers in both litigated and non-litigated insurance coverage matters involving a broad range of issues arising under primary, excess and reinsurance policies. Vanci’s practice primarily focuses on general liability claims involving long tail environmental and toxic tort liabilities as well as pollution related claims under pollution and environmental liability insurance policies. Vanci also handles insurance matters involving construction defect claims; landlord/tenant claims including claims impacting personal and advertising injury coverages; sex abuse and sexual harassment and discrimination claims impacting general liability, directors and officers and errors and omissions liability coverages and catastrophic bodily injury claims arising out of work place or work related accidents. More recently, Vanci’s practice has included claims arising under policies providing technology, privacy and cybersecurity coverages.
Vanci is admitted to practice in the State of California and all of the Federal District Courts in California. Vanci has also handled matters in courts outside of California including matters in Arizona, Florida and Nevada (pro hac vice). Vanci is a member of the Claims & Litigation Management Alliance (“CLM”) and the Orange County Bar Association.
Vanci received a B.A. in Political Science and Religious Studies from the University of Redlands in 1991 and her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1994 where she participated on the Moot Court Board and was an officer of the Black Law Students Association.
