People. There are people on both sides of the v. Not just names, not just corporations, but people. Taking care of the people is as important as resolving the legal issues they face. If anything, it is more so.
I specialize in one industry and one industry only: residential mortgage lending.
For two decades now, I’ve advised and counseled clients on how to reduce the risk of being targeted, and, when they are facing legal action, how to achieve the most effective and efficient resolution possible. I’ve represented nearly every major bank and mortgage lender over the years and have focused on learning, not just the law that governs them, but also the actual nuts and bolts of their day-to-day operations. I serve as my clients’ advocate, representative, negotiator, and advisor. When I am needed, I will be there, to the fullest extent of my abilities.
I’m an active member of several major trade organizations (e.g., the national MBA, the California Mortgage Bankers’ Association, the American Bankers Association), and helped establish one specifically tailored to serve the needs of compliance officers (i.e., the RegList). I’ve spoken and written on dozens of different topics ranging from the trending class action theories to the latest alphabet soup litigation to forecasting the next wave of regulatory hurdles.
I can be found at the annual industry conferences around the country. If you see me, please stop me and introduce yourself. I always look forward to meeting those who are new to the mortgage world. Perhaps I can show you something unique. Or more likely, you’ll teach me a thing or two. Either way, I promise to make it worth your while.
