The trial court properly exercised specific personal jurisdiction over defendant husband, a Georgia resident, in this suit for a Domestic Violence Protection Act injunction by wife who had moved to California.  Specific jurisdiction is appropriate when the defendant’s  acting elsewhere causes effects in California of a nature that are exceptional and subject to special regulation in the forum state. Here, California specially regulates domestic violence through the DVPA.  And domestic violence causes exceptional harm.
