While the firm consistently strives for excellence, we also recognize that a healthy, well-rounded life is key to professional success. Severson associates have an annual billable hour requirement of 1,800 hours per year, lower than most comparable Bay Area and California firms. Associates can choose to work above and beyond this benchmark, and are compensated accordingly. The firm also has a number of attorneys who work under part time and contract arrangements, and we encourage this when it is in the best interests of the lawyer and the firm.
