Our members, associates, and special counsel represent many of the nation’s best law schools, and their wealth of knowledge and experience have made Severson & Werson California’s leading financial services litigation firm.
While the firm consistently strives for excellence, we also recognize that a healthy, well-rounded life is key to professional success. Severson associates have an annual billable hour requirement of 1,850 hours per year, lower than most comparable Bay Area and California firms. Associates can choose to work above and beyond this benchmark, and are compensated accordingly. The firm also has a number of attorneys who work under part time and contract arrangements, and we encourage this when it is in the best interests of the lawyer and the firm.

New associates are also encouraged to take part in the firm’s various in-house training programs, where they can learn not only new skills to help them in their legal careers, but also information about other practice areas in the firm.

Severson staff members enjoy a work schedule which leaves ample time for a life outside the office. We offer a 35-hour work week and competitive compensation, along with a standard package of employee benefits, including major medical, life/AD&D, dental, long term disability, and flexible benefit plan for health and dependent care. The firm also has a profit-sharing and salary deferral plan, in which employees are eligible to participate after their first year with the firm.
