Court says Consumer cannot pay for luxury vehicle with bogus "Bill of Exchange"

On April 7, 2005, Judge Ramona See found that a consumer's payment for a vehicle with a "Bill of Exchange" was part of an internet debt elimination scam known as redemption.  The Court, through a series of motions filed by Severson attorneys, sustained demurrers to the consumer's complaints, ordered the consumer to turn over the vehicle, enjoined the consumer from filing liens and UCC-1 financing statements, and issued sanctions against the consumer.  For more updates concerning this case or other actions involving bogus debt elimination scams, or to receive a copy of the order, please contact Scott J.
