Jan T. Chilton elected Secretary-Treasurer of the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers (“CAAL”) for 2009-2010

The head of Severson’s appellate practice, Jan T. Chilton, has been elected Secretary-Treasurer of the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers (“CAAL”) for 2009-2010. Mr. Chilton is a Member of the firm. He represents financial institutions, other businesses, and individuals in civil appeals and extraordinary writ proceedings in state and federal appellate courts.
Founded in 1972, the CAAL is the oldest lawyer’s organization in the country dedicated solely to the practice of appellate law. The CAAL plays an active role in the courts, appearing as amicus in cases involving important issues of appellate practice. The CAAL also serves as a forum for exchanging views among experienced practitioners and judicial officers about the appellate process. |
