“Shifting the Burden,” Donald H. Cram publishes article regarding Bankruptcy Abuse and Consumer Protection Act

(Last updated October 16, 2006)

Donald H. Cram, III, special counsel in the San Francisco office of Severson & Werson, served on a six-member panel assembled by The Daily Journal for an in-depth discussion about The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005, which became law on October 17, 2005, representing the most sweeping bankruptcy reform in the US in more than 30 years.

As a member of a panel of bankruptcy legal experts, Attorney Cram detailed the advantages gained by companies that extend credit to financially troubled consumers and businesses and the new rules for creditor committees. In an executive forum, the panel discussed why pre-bankruptcy planning has become vitally important for individuals and businesses on the edge.

Attorney Cram’s feature article about the new bankruptcy laws, Shifting the Burden,” appears in the December 2005 issue of American Lawyer Media’s 8-K MAGAZINE, the Legal Magazine for Business Executives.
