Robert J. Gandy is a litigation associate in Severson & Werson's Irvine office, where he practices in the Financial Services and Mortgage Banking practice groups.
Mr. Gandy represents major financial institutions, including banks, mortgage lenders, consumer financial companies and mortgage loan servicers, in all stages of litigation, including trials in state and federal courts. Mr Gandy specializes in defending national mortgage lenders and mortgage loan servicers against borrower actions alleging lender liability, wrongful foreclosure, title claims, loan servicing claims, and violations of state and federal statutes.
Prior to joining Severson & Werson, Mr. Gandy represented national mortgage lenders, mortgage loan servicers, and other real estate and mortgage professionals in prosecuting and defending mortgage banking and loan servicing litigation in state and federal courts.
Mr. Gandy received his Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law. Prior to law school, Mr. Gandy was a juvenile corrections officer for the State of Washington and a juvenile probation officer for Clark County in Nevada.
Mr. Gandy is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in California. He is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association, Orange County Asian American Bar Association, and Vietnamese American Bar Association of Southern California.

Commercial litigation with an emphasis on mortgage banking and financial institution litigation, including representation of retail, wholesale, and warehouse mortgage lenders defending against borrower complaints involving lender liability, wrongful foreclosure, title claims, breach of contract and violations of the Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act and Business & Professions Code § 17200

Financial Institution Litigation: Representation of financial institutions, primarily mortgage lenders, loan servicers, and financial institutions, in actions raising a variety of lender liability claims based on statutory violations, unfair business practices, breach of contract, fraud, and wrongful foreclosure.
Litigation of lender priority claims against title insurers, mortgage brokers and borrowers.
Business and Commercial Litigation: Prosecute and defend actions arising from complex business transactions, fiduciary relationships, and business torts.
