Rhonda Nelson is a Member of the firm, specializing in labor and employment.
As chair of the firm's Labor & Employment practice group, she specializes in labor and employment litigation, advice, and counseling, representing employers in a wide variety of issues arising within the employer/employee relationship. Ms. Nelson counsels employers on internal harassment and discrimination investigations and presents on-site seminars for clients on sexual harassment and related issues. Ms. Nelson also has experience litigating employment issues (with extensive experience in civil law and motion practice).
Ms. Nelson also has extensive litigation experience in the areas of ADA, evictions and habitability issues concerning bank-owned properties, creditors’ rights, receivership, attachment and bankruptcy.
Ms. Nelson is very active in a number of professional associations. She is currently a member of the American Bar Association, Labor and Employment Law Section, and the Business Law Section. She is also a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco and a former member of the Judicial Evaluation Committee. She has been a panelist at a number of seminars and programs organized by such associations as the Continuing Education of the Bar, Association of Defense Counsel of Northern California and Nevada, Minority Corporate Counsel Association and the American Bar Association.
Ms. Nelson has been voted Super Lawyer 2009-2013 in the area of Employment & Labor; Rated AV Preeminent 1997 – 2014 and selected for edition of Martindale-Hubbell® Bar Register of Preeminent Women Lawyers,™ 2013.

Labor and employment, advice and counsel and litigation.
Labor and Employment Litigation: Representing employers in a wide variety of issues arising within the employer/employee relationship. Significant experience litigating employment issues with extensive experience in civil law and motion practice. Defense of the full range of state and federal employment law actions, including claims of discrimination and harassment, wrongful termination, breach of contract, defamation and invasion of privacy and other employment-related matters. Participation as lead counsel in arbitrations, mediations and at trial. Extensive experience in civil law and motion practices.
Labor & Employment Advice and Counseling: Ms. Nelson counsels employers on internal harassment and discrimination investigations and presents on-site seminars for clients on sexual harassment and related issues. Counseling and representation of employers on numerous facets of the employer/employee relationship, including employment policies and procedures, wage and hour matters, harassment, complaint investigation, family leave and pregnancy, employee discipline, and termination.
Employment Training: Preparation and presentation of seminars and training sessions to both managerial and line employees on a wide range of employment matters including harassment and discrimination, sensitivity issues, loss prevention techniques, and the employer’s role in litigation management.
