John R. Meehan
John Meehan is Special Counsel with the firm’s Construction Law and Insurance groups.
He represents design professionals, developers, owners and contractors in all types of construction litigation. He also has extensive experience in other types of civil litigation, including real property issues, title disputes, HOA issues, employment law, personal injury, product liability, business disputes and legal malpractice.
In addition to litigation services, Mr. Meehan also advises clients with respect to drafting documents such as engagement contracts, business buy-outs, operating agreements, by-laws, and business formation. He also advises clients on a full range of risk management and pre-litigation dispute resolution issues.
Mr. Meehan has tried a number of matters to verdict and has experience in both jury and court trials. He also has extensive experience in mediating and arbitrating matters on behalf of clients and has acted as an neutral arbitrator.
Mr. Meehan joined Severson & Werson in 2007. He received his J.D. from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific in 1986 where he was on the Board of Editors for the Pacific Law Journal. He also attend the University of Oregon where he obtained a B.S. degree in 1983.
