Dennis M. Talbott

Dennis Talbott joined Severson & Werson in 1964, and has been a member since 1970. He represents financial institutions in all aspects of the creditor-debtor relationship, with a special concentration for the past 20 years in representing secured creditors in structuring complex loan transactions involving syndications or participations, and in debt restructuring arrangements involving real, personal and intellectual property collateral.

Mr. Talbott has been involved with revisions to the Uniform Commercial Code, having chaired the Uniform Commercial Code Committee of the the State Bar Association of California. He participated in the preparation of California comments and recommendations regarding revision to or adoption of a number of U.C.C. articles.

Mr. Talbott has served as a mediator for the bankruptcy court, having received special training in commercial mediation by the Bankruptcy Court of the Northern District of Calfornia and the American Arbitration Association. He has also served as an arbitrator for the San Francisco Superior Court.

Mr. Talbott is a frequent lecturer on accounts receivable and inventory financing, loan workouts, bankruptcy, techniques for avoiding lender liability claims and application of creditors’ remedies. He is also involved with Severson’s in-house attorney training programs.
