Ryan M. Ito is an associate practicing in Severson & Werson’s Financial Services Practice group. Mr. Ito defends financial institutions against consumer and class actions in state and federal court. His areas of expertise include TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, HOEPA, and Labor and Employment as well as various aspects of contract and tort law.

Mr. Ito earned his law degree from Duke University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina, where he served as Articles Editor of the Duke Environmental Law Journal and was a Court appointed advocate for the Children's Education Law Clinic.  He also holds a B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Southern California Annenberg School.

Mr. Ito is a member of the American Bar Association, Orange County Bar Association, and is a Scholarship Committee Board Member for the Japanese American Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before all state and federal courts in California.

Mr. Ito's specific experience includes:

Financial Institution Litigation: Representation of financial institutions, primarily mortgage lenders, auto finance companies, and loan servicers, in suits raising a variety of lender liability claims. 

Business and Commercial Litigation: Prosecute and defend actions arising from complex business transactions, fiduciary relationships, partnerships, suretyships, employment termination, and business torts. 

Class Actions: Representation of mortgage banking companies, auto finance companies, and financial institutions in class actions raising claims based on statutory violations, unfair business practices, breach of contract, and fraud.
